We expect everyone to respect each other, respect the space, and respect the work. DDS reserves the right to ask anyone to leave if they are not behaving in the best interest of the studio, the students, our teachers or our staff.

Attendance is taken in each class. Good attendance is expected of our students as absences not only affect the student’s development, but they can hold back the entire class. There are no make-ups, refunds, credits or pro-rated tuition for missed classes. If you attend a portion of the month, you are responsible for the full monthly tuition. If for any reason management decides to refund your tuition due to extenuating circumstances, refunds may take up to 30 days and will be mailed to you in the form of a check (minus a $25 facilitation and processing fee) or as a credit applied to your account for future use.
Enrollment is year-long and our curriculum is structured as such. If for any reason you need to drop class before the end of the year, we will apply the last month’s tuition to your account upon written notification on or by the 10th day of the previous month. Your last month’s tuition will not be refunded under any circumstances.

During the first week of classes each month, parents are welcome to come to the last 15 minutes of class to observe. Observing inside the classroom at any other time is not allowed unless a parent(s) have been specifically invited by an instructor.
Students are required to check with a teacher before leaving the studio. If you arrange for an alternate carpool, please have the student inform the teacher at the beginning of class as a courtesy to the studio. Your child’s safety is extremely important to us. For our younger students, an assistant teacher will stay with your child until your child is picked up.
Because our studio revolves around a tight schedule, guardians / parents are responsible for the safety of a student entering and leaving the building before and after class. Diversity Dance Studio is only responsible for students during the designated class time frames.
Should a parent be later than 30 minutes for a pick up, management may include a late fee on your account to cover the extra time of the staff member in the space.

Diversity Dance Studio follows the LISD school district closings in regards to severe or concerning weather. We will post about class cancellations by 2:30 p.m when necessary due to weather concerns via email.
Diversity Dance Studio reserves the right to close the studio with short notice at the discretion of the owner. Reasons do not need to be disclosed, but may included : closings to preserve the safety of the students, closings due to less than 25% attendance, closings due to staff health, wellbeing, or personal need / emergency. Make Up Class options are considered on a case by case basis.
Diversity Dance Studio has a policy of no make-up classes for up to 3 closures due to “acts of nature!” (such as but not limited to : bad weather days or in anticipation of bad weather days). After 3 closures, DDS will start to offer make-up lessons unless “acts of nature” start to accumulate to 6 or more days (for ex : the great ice storm in TX of February 2021). We put the safety of our students, their guardians, and our staff as a first priority.
We do not prorate tuition for bad weather cancellations.
Should Diversity Dance need to cancel a class for other reasons, make-up options will be offered.
**We do not prorate for holidays.
To see scheduled closings, please see THE CALENDAR!

We require a 24-hour cancellation notice for any missed lessons. Should you miss a private lesson without notice, or if you notify the studio the day of your lesson, you will be charged for your private lesson. If you give your teacher at least 24 hrs notice, your lesson will be re-scheduled and made up. Only 3 lessons per semester will be eligible for a make-up.
Instructors may need to cancel the day of due to unforeseen circumstances (sickness, family emergency, etc.). Should that happen, the instructor will either provide a substitute teacher or make every effort to make up your lesson within the semester. After 3 attempts to make up a lesson, that lesson will be null and void.
